Dear Friend,
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was one of our nation's greatest legal minds, a champion for choice, and a moral compass whose steadfastness kept us hopeful even in the darkest of days. As just the second woman to serve on the Supreme Court, she broke barriers for American women and was a role model for kids everywhere. I am devastated by her passing.
Last night, my family and I learned the news of her death as we were preparing to celebrate Rosh Hashanah, turning the page to a new year in the Jewish calendar. It was, and still is, hard to comprehend starting a new year and taking on the enormous challenges we are facing without Justice Ginsburg.
The work Justice Ginsburg championed - gender equality, marriage equality, justice for all - is far from done. The torch has been passed, and it's on all of us to honor her memory by continuing the work.
May her memory be a blessing, and may we all continue to fight to protect her extraordinary legacy.
