John, my heart is heavy.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a role model for me—as a lawyer, as a professor, as a working mother, as someone who wants to do good for her community. I'm sure she was for you, too.

A trailblazer and a voice for liberty and equality, her life's work made a profound difference in the fight to build a more just country.

She's leaving behind a legacy, and it's on us to honor it and continue this fight.

I understand that it can sometimes feel impossible to find hope during these moments. But we can, and we must, forge on with our heavy hearts and refuse to give up.

We can protect our democracy and make the transformative changes our country needs. But it's going to take every single one of us. So much is at stake in this year's election, John. So speak out and volunteer to phone bank in a swing state. Check your voter registration status right now and ask your family members to do the same. Set up a recurring donation, if you're able, to a campaign or cause you're passionate about. VOTE, and do so early if you can.

There's so much for us to fight for, and we're not going to back down now.
