John,
By now most of you have heard the news: Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed due to complications from cancer.
This is a devastating blow for many of us. Justice Ginsburg was a pioneering champion for women’s rights, gender equity, and civil rights. Not only did we lose a champion for so many of our causes and communities, she passed at a time when so much is already at stake.
Only weeks away from Election Day, this news can hit hard. At times like this it is important to take part in the practices, people, and culture that ground us.
Please join us and special guests — Senator Elizabeth Warren, Senator Ed Markey, Alicia Garza (Black to the Future Action Fund), and Greisa Martinez (Executive Director of United We Dream Action) — tonight, Saturday, September 19th at 8pm ET/5pm PT for an emergency WFP Assembly as we come together in community to remember Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg and talk about how we can honor her final wish — that she not be replaced until after Inauguration Day:

The WFP Assembly is our regular, virtual gathering for Working Families Party supporters to build community and recommit ourselves to the movement. All you need to join is a phone or a computer.
We can honor Justice Ginsburg by staying rooted in the fights to which she dedicated her life, by refusing to fall to despair, and by dedicating ourselves to honoring her final wish.
In love and solidarity,
Maurice Mitchell
