John -
I am writing to you today deeply saddened by the news that Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has passed.
Just before her death, she said to her granddaughter, "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."
Now Mitch McConnell has already said that he will bring a judge nominated by Trump to the floor of the United States Senate.
We cannot let that happen, John.
That is why I am asking you to add your name to tell Mitch McConnell that any nomination must wait until after the November election:
There is no question about it, the stakes of this election have never been higher.
And as participants in the coalition to pack the Supreme Court, we are fighting to pack the courts to rebalance the damage done by this administration.
We are fighting to pack the courts so every single eligible voter has the right to vote in November.
We are fighting to pack the courts so we can create real climate reparations.
And we are fighting to pack the courts so we can dismantle the entire fossil fuel industry and create a fossil fuel free world.
But we cannot fight this battle alone. We need you with us:
Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg fought hard her entire life, now we must continue that fight. Together.
In solidarity,
Tamara Toles O'Laughlin
