Friend –– Our hearts are heavy today.
Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was an American hero and her passing will leave an indelible mark on our society.
She dedicated her life to the fundamental belief that all Americans were created equal and deserve full and equal justice under the law.
She argued and won some of the most historic and impactful cases in our nation’s history –– and became the second woman ever appointed to the highest court in the land.
In her final days, Justice Ginsburg dictated a statement to her granddaughter:
“My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”
This is the first of many steps we can and must take to honor the legacy of this remarkable person.
We hold the Ginsburg family in our hearts and minds and hope they know that as they mourn the passing of their beloved matriarch, RBG, that they are not alone.
The nation mourns with them too.
