An unprecedented fight for the Supreme Court starts right now.

Dear,

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s dying words, dictated to her granddaughter, were, “My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed.”(1)

But less than two hours after Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s passing, Mitch McConnell announced that “Trump’s nominee will receive a vote on the floor of the United States Senate.” And this morning, Trump himself tweeted that he would nominate a justice to replace Justice Ginsburg.

That can never happen.

Instead of taking the time to process the great loss of Ginsberg last night, our team stayed up through the early morning hours planning how we can stop McConnell from pushing through a Justice who will be the vote to destroy Roe v. Wade, LGBTQ rights, workers rights, and the values we hold dear. But we didn’t budget for this fight, so we’re going need a major influx of new resources now.

Will you rush an emergency donation to stop Trump from selecting Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement on the Supreme Court?

The next Justice will be a deciding vote on Roe v. Wade. The Affordable Care Act. Worker's rights. Women’s rights. LGBTQ rights. The environment. It all hangs in the balance.

Senate Democrats must do everything possible -- use every tool, enforce every rule, allow no compromise -- to prevent a vote on Trump’s nominee. They need to be just a ruthless as Mitch McConnell, and we're mobilizing grassroots pressure to stop any vote on a replacement for Justice Ginsburg until the next president is sworn in.

An unprecedented fight for the Supreme Court starts right now, and we need every resource possible to hold off a confirmation until Trump is voted out in November. We have to flood the Senate with calls, fill the halls of representatives’ offices, and more to let every McConnell crony know they’ll pay a huge political price for voting with him. Will you donate to help fund this emergency effort?

Yes, I’ll donate.

The Hebrew word for someone who dies on Rosh Hashana -- the Jewish New Year celebrated today -- is “tzaddik,” or one of great righteousness. It’s incredibly fitting for Ruth Bader Ginsberg, who spoke for the voiceless time and time again.

The list of people that Trump is considering to replace her are a betrayal to everything she stood for.

The list includes not only extreme right-wing senators Tom Cotton and Ted Cruz, but 7th Circuit judge Amy Barrrett, who voted in favor of a separate-but-equal policy against a Black woman, and 5th Circuit judge Kyle Duncan, who has spent his career fighting against LGBTQ equality.(2)

Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell blocked President Obama’s nominee for ten months because it was too close to the 2016 election, but he has been 100% clear that he doesn’t care how close we are to going to the polls now -- he will fill Justice Ginsburg’s seat.(3) The hypocrisy is breathtaking.

Mitch McConnell thinks he can get away with anything. We must prove him wrong.

Donate to stop Trump from selecting Ruth Bader Ginsburg’s replacement on the Supreme Court.
