Yesterday, we lost a powerful ally in the fight for justice. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a fierce trailblazer who helped advance the rights of marginalized people. Women, LGBTQ people, immigrants, people living with disabilities and many others.
We believe that the best way to honor her legacy is to continue the fight for true justice and equity for all. As Ruth Bader Ginsburg said “Fight for the things that you care about, but do it in a way that will lead others to join you” — and that is just what we plan to do.
Yesterday we kicked off our Here to Stay 2020 campaign — our biggest electoral organizing effort yet, where our team will focus on connecting with voters in crucial states.
We’ll also be laying the groundwork for our future by training a new generation of youth leaders through our Here to Stay squad of volunteers to make phone calls and send texts to fight back against Donald Trump.
This program has the potential to create real change in the lives of our communities. We’ve set meaningful and attainable goals — like reaching 6 million voters this year and electing champions for our movement up and down the ballot everywhere.
