Dear John,
At this moment, I wanted to speak with you personally about just how urgently and earnestly we must all fight for this election.
Yesterday morning, I voted early with my family by my side at the Henrico County Registrar.
To see so many people show up on the very first day of early voting, taking photos, smiling and greeting each other made me feel deeply proud of our Democracy. In this difficult time, our nation remains strong because of the people who show up and make their voices heard.
Then, last night, our team’s excitement came to a halt when we got the news about the passing of Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. She lived an extraordinary life, consistently demonstrating a fierce tenacity, a commitment to justice, and a brilliance that paved the way for generations of Americans in the field of law and in the pursuit of equality.
When I woke up this morning, I felt more resolutely than ever to put every ounce of my energy into fighting for our community and our country. This is truly the most important election of our lifetime. I need you all to re-commit everything you have to this fight today.
Together, we’ll secure a brighter future on Election Day.
Thank you,
Abigail
P.S. Did you notice the socially-distanced line of people waiting to cast their ballots? It was impressive, heartening, and happening all over Virginia.
