Today, America mourns the loss of a great American hero.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg was a trailblazer and a ferocious champion for justice who fought to make our world a fairer and more equal place for all.

During her final days, Justice Ginsburg’s most fervent wish was not to be replaced until after the next inauguration. As we come to terms with this loss, we must get ready to fight for the future of the Supreme Court and ensure that it reflects the will of the American people.

Last night, within minutes of Justice Ginsburg’s passing, Mitch McConnell announced that he would ignore the example he set in 2016 and hold a vote on President Trump’s next Supreme Court nominee.

We’ve seen the nominees on President Trump’s list. They stand against the progress we’ve spent years fighting for, and their appointment to the court would drag our country back in time on civil rights, health care, racial justice, and the values we hold dear.

Ben Ray’s opponent supports President Trump’s nominees — and he has vowed to only confirm judges who would undermine a woman’s right to choose.

With the stakes this high, we cannot afford to leave anything up to chance.

Within the last several weeks, new polling has come out showing this race closer than ever, and a super PAC has begun major spending against our campaign.
