John,

We’re at a loss for words.

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg championed a life dedicated to the pursuit of justice and equality. Today, we remember her with immense gratitude for the lasting legacy she leaves for women across the country.

Justice Ginsburg was a titan among us -- and she led by example. From serving as a civil rights lawyer with the ACLU to her 27-year tenure as the second woman on the Supreme Court, she fiercely sought to advance gender equality and equal opportunity for every American.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg fought tirelessly to defend our democracy, even while battling the late stages of cancer. Her granddaughter, Clara, shared that Ginsburg’s concern for our country stayed with her during her final days: "My most fervent wish is that I will not be replaced until a new president is installed."

But Mitch McConnell has already released an official statement saying that, against his own precedent, his Republican Senate will hold a vote for Donald Trump’s next SCOTUS nomination.

Now more than ever, we must fight to protect the legacy of the woman who paved the way for so many generations. We must be relentless, as she was, in defending our democracy and continuing the fight for justice.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg championed a movement toward equity for over six decades. Now, it’s our duty to carry it forward.

In remembrance,
