Friend,
My life, and that of my mother’s, would not have been possible without the vision, leadership, and fight of Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. My daughter’s possibilities are greater today than any of her family before her, thanks to the legendary, the notorious, RBG.
My heart aches for the late Justice’s children, her grandchildren, and her vast legal family. I’m grateful to them for lending their loved one to us all in service of their country. Justice Ginsburg has earned a permanent place in the pages of our country’s history. Now, it is up to all of us to carry forward the fight that she so valiantly carried on her back for her entire life—and especially these last few months.
I will not stand idly by and watch the Republican Senate betray the late Justice’s dying wish: that her replacement’s nomination be brought forward by the duly elected President, whomever he may be, after January.
The naked hypocrisy of Mitch McConnell and Republicans in Washington cannot now, nor ever, diminish the extraordinary contributions Justice Ginsburg made, and it will not stop the vast majority of decent Pennsylvanians from standing up for what they know to be right and just.
The Ginsburg family is in my thoughts today. May she and her late husband Martin rest together in peace.
Sincerely,
Susan Wild
