Friend, As American small businesses across the country continue to suffer from the damaging effects of COVID-19, Nancy Pelosi has been taking her time approving Congressional aid.
So much so, that I had no choice but to work take matters into my own hands and file a resolution to extend the Paycheck Protection Program to continue protecting small businesses in our community.
The Paycheck Protection Program has helped nearly 9,500 small businesses right here in Southwest Washington alone, but if we fail to extend it, it’s not just Southwest Washington that will be affected. Small businesses everywhere will suffer. While I’m working hard to make sure that workers remain employed, businesses stay open, and companies avoid filing for bankruptcy, Nancy Pelosi is once again putting her partisan politics over helping small businesses and the people of Southwest Washington.
This shouldn’t come as a surprise since Pelosi has played political games since the beginning of the pandemic and doesn’t plan on stopping anytime soon.
We need more leaders in Congress who are putting partisan politics aside and putting the needs of their community first.
Thanks,
Jaime Herrera Beutler
