Brandt —

Our country is facing a tragic loss today with the passing of Ruth Bader Ginsburg — a trailblazer who worked relentlessly to expand the rights of all Americans. My thoughts are with her loved ones and the tens of millions of people she inspires to this very day.

I wish our country could take time today to pause and celebrate the life of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, but Mitch McConnell is already hard at work politicizing this tragedy.

Here’s the truth: North Carolinians are already voting and will continue to do so in the coming weeks. They deserve that opportunity to have their voices heard, and then, it should be up to the next President and the next Senate to fill the vacancy on our Court.

If you agree with me, I’m asking you to add your name to our petition today asking McConnell not to advance a Supreme Court nominee until after our next president is inaugurated in January.

The next several weeks were already going to be so important, and now I believe they will be some of the most consequential of our entire lives. We must be ready to fight and we have to do it together.

Thank you,

— Cal
