Hey John -
Dan Crenshaw here. I hope you are well.
This week, I debunked the left’s lies about Republicans and drug pricing, and also continued to call on my Democrat colleagues to put politics aside and come to the negotiating table to pass COVID-19 relief for a country that is still struggling.

Now, here’s your campaign brief:

HEALTH CARE IS PERSONAL TO ME
I was ten when I lost my mom to cancer. And I'm alive today and I can see because of incredible doctors. Health care is personal to me just like it is to you. Our health care policy needs to be personalized - not handed over to government bureaucrats.
My plan: hold big pharma accountable, decrease your costs with more choice and transparency, increase your access to doctors you trust, and protect those with pre-existing conditions.
You deserve personalized health care. That's what I'm fighting for in Congress.

THE TRUTH ABOUT THE DRUG PRICING DEBATE
The drug pricing debate is complex. During this election season, you’ll hear Democrats lie breathlessly about it, just like they did with protections for pre-existing conditions.
So, here’s the truth: we all know that drug prices are too high. And we all want to work to lower drug costs. But we also know that the Democrat proposal - Nancy Pelosi’s price control plan - would destroy medical innovation in America. According to the Congressional Budget Office, the Democrat plan would lead to 30 fewer drugs over the next decade. Other studies say the results would be far worse.
I believe we can lower drug costs while preserving American medical innovation that we all rely on. That’s why I helped introduce a plan that would hold big pharma companies accountable and stop the unfair, uncompetitive behavior that patients ultimately end up paying for at the pharmacy counter. Importantly, my bill does this without leading to fewer cures.

STOP THE PARTISANSHIP ON COVID-19 RELIEF
Most Americans would expect their Congress to go ahead and pass the portions of COVID relief that we already agree on. Instead, Democrats refuse.
Democrats blocked billions in aid for schools, resources for testing and vaccine development, and help for unemployed Americans and our small businesses fighting to keep their doors open.
I am in the top ⅓ of the most bipartisan members of Congress according to Georgetown University. I am always willing to partner with Democrats on legislation that solves a problem.
But what I am not willing to do is let them get away with shameless politics when the country is hurting. I will always call that out.
