John,
Right now California and Oregon are burning. Smoke from wildfires is poisoning the air and blanketing the country.
The Atlantic Ocean, for only the second time in history, has had five active tropical cyclones at the same time; one recently hit land. And as summer ends, 2020 will likely go down as the hottest year on record.
Climate chaos is happening. And giant corporations are making it worse as they race to extract and burn fossil fuels, feverishly drilling out every last cent of profit. They’re even plotting dangerous new legislation to prop up their failing industry with taxpayer money.
But we can stop them, if we act now.
That’s why Food & Water Action is fighting in communities across the country — in city halls and the halls of Congress — to enact bold, ambitious climate policies to stop climate change and protect people, not profits. But we can’t do it without your support.
Will you make an emergency donation to help power our efforts to keep fossil fuels in the ground and protect people and our planet from climate change?

Climate change poses one of the biggest threats ever known to humankind. But timid policymakers are afraid to take the bold actions they know are necessary to stop global warming. And greedy corporations scheme to find new ways to force taxpayers to subsidize their failing businesses, while pocketing enormous profits along the way.
Meanwhile, Trump scorns science, denies climate change and puts people’s lives in danger. His administration has reversed more than 100 fundamental environmental protections. Science does not lie and climate change is happening now.

And science knows that feeble half-measures by state governments make things worse for people. In California, where fires are ravaging the state, Governor Gavin Newsom talks a good game against climate change, but at the same time, he’s issued more than 1,500 new oil and gas drilling permits in 2020 alone. Food & Water Action is holding him accountable.
It’s time for policy makers, from Washington D.C. to Sacramento, to wake up and understand they can’t continue to put fossil fuel profits over our safety.
Make an emergency donation now to help protect our planet from the worsening effects of climate change.

Every day, Food & Water Action is on the front lines fighting for safe food, clean drinking water and a livable climate. We organize thousands of supporters and volunteers to fight in Congress — and in state legislatures and city halls across the country — to stand up against weak politicians and greedy corporations.
Right now we’re fighting to stop the worst effects of climate change by:
Organizing our members to help pass groundbreaking federal legislation like the Fracking Ban Act, which would, for the first time ever, stop fracking nationwide.
Fighting in Congress to advance the Future Generations Protection Act, visionary legislation that would put an end to fossil fuel expansion and protect our communities.
Calling out elected officials through phone, email, text, and social media when they fail to act to stop climate change.
Protecting our public lands and national monuments, like Chaco Canyon and the Arctic National Wildlife Refuge, from oil and gas drilling.
Trump and his polluter allies have been doing everything they can to destroy our environment; our climate is at a tipping point. We can’t continue to ignore what’s right in front of us — climate change is happening and we can do something about it now. But we need your help.
Make an emergency donation to Food & Water Action to stand up for our environment and protect our future.
