This is an absolutely critical juncture for our fight for stronger gun laws in the Senate.
Everytown for Gun Safety

John – after rallying for action to prevent gun violence and sending hundreds of thousands of emails and calls to our U.S. Senators during their August recess, we're preparing for Congress to return to Washington next week. We know the pressure we've been putting on the Senate is working, and now we need them to take meaningful action. We need them to pass background checks for all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law.

Keep the pressure on right now by calling one of your Senators and urging them to support background checks on all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law.

CALL NOW

We know that the shooter who killed 7 people and wounded 25 others in West Texas last weekend should not have been able to purchase his firearm and would have failed a background check. But he exploited a loophole in our federal law...precisely the kind of loophole the Senate can close by taking action and passing a bill requiring background checks on all gun sales.

We also know that many shooters who use firearms to harm themselves or others exhibit identifiable warning signs ahead of time, and that passing a strong Red Flag law might give law enforcement and family members a chance to save lives by temporarily removing the gun in those dangerous situations.

We need the Senate to take action so that no more lives are cut short and no more families have to suffer because of weak gun laws. Make your call now and tell your Senator how urgently we need background checks on all gun sales and a strong Red Flag law.

Thank you for taking action,

Rob Wilcox
