Good morning John,

This week we discussed how Greens have a radically different vision for the course of our country. And enabling this vision to come to fruition naturally requires a different form of leadership.

We also discussed the journey from activism (calling attention to issues from outside) to advocacy (working within the system to bring systems change). And how because almost every action we take is political in some way, every single person has the power to create systems change in their community, their industry, and society.

You don't need to have a political science degree to participate in politics. Whoever you are, whatever matters to you, we encourage you to be that, and be politically active too.

Next week we will be diving deeper into the topic of 'regeneration', going back to where it all started: the soil. Because everything is connected! Work, health and home are all green issues — and regeneration of our soil plays a role in turning those crises into solutions that make our world a more just and equitable place.

SO WHAT MIGHT A SMALL BUSINESS LOOK LIKE UNDER THE REGENERATIVE LENSE? This unisex pesticide-free perfume, created by one-woman-show, Daphna, is a great example. Her products are produced through ingredients which protect the soil, the biosphere, farmers, and customers. For the last several years Daphna has also been advocating for better transparency on beauty labels and raising awareness about the dangers of synthetic fragrance (fossil fuels) and agrochemicals (namely pesticides) in the beauty industry. As many of you reading this will know, complete elimination of pesticides for non-agriculture and 50% elimination in agriculture by 2022 is part of our policy. With the help of our Green Peer, Natalie Bennett, Lovorika has pushed these concerns to be raised in the House of Lords.
