Chris, I have horrible news. Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg has just died.

And Mitch McConnell, in supremely bad taste, has already announced that he will steal Ginsburg's seat. McConnell is promising to hold a vote on a new Trump Supreme Court nominee even though the election is only weeks away. McConnell famously refused to offer the same courtesy to President Obama with far more lead time, effectively stealing Merrick Garland's Supreme Court seat.

This is a disaster of the highest order, and spells real trouble for Roe v. Wade, the right to vote, LGBT rights, and so many more issues dear to our hearts. In the coming days, liberal groups will be organizing to stop this nomination, and I hope you'll help them. In the meantime, let's chip in to help Amy McGrath defeat Mitch McConnell in November.
