Dear Friends,
It’s with a lot of excitement and pride that we announce our endorsement of Michele Leal for State Representative in House District 148 with a $10,000 contribution to her campaign.
Michele has been with our organization since the beginning of its founding in 2015 and served as co-chair of the Board this year. We’re grateful for her time, energy, and work in engaging and preparing the next generation of leaders in Texas politics.
Her commitment to uplift the Latino community and improve the quality of life for all Houstonians extends beyond her involvement with the Latino Texas PAC. Here are a few highlights from Michele’s background to reference when talking to others about Michele:
- She served in the office of State Representative Jessica Farrar during the 78th Texas legislative session, focusing on health care and women’s health policies and research.
- She analyzed legislation and conducted policy research in the Senate Research Center during the 79th legislative session.
- She served as President of the Latin Women’s Initiative, a nonprofit organization devoted to uplift Latina children and families.
