Commitment to America
House Republicans unveiled our Commitment to America plan to restore our way of life, rebuild the greatest economy in history, and renew the American Dream. America is worth fighting for, and that’s what this commitment is all about.
We will restore our way of life by working alongside President Trump to combat COVID-19. America is already on the doorstep of a safe, effective vaccine for COVID-19 because of President Trump’s leadership and Republican congressional action to increase federal funding to fight viruses and find cures. We will build upon this action to defeat COVID-19 and keep Americans safe.
We will rebuild the greatest economy this world has ever seen with pro-growth policies to get Americans back to work. We will hold China accountable for lying to the world about Coronavirus and eliminate our reliance on China for life-saving supplies vital to America's national security – enhancing our economic security by bringing manufacturing jobs back to the United States.
We will renew the American Dream by promoting opportunities that allow every American to be a part of the journey to rebuild this great nation.

Fighting for American Energy Security
This week, I was honored to be named an American Energy Champion for my efforts to strengthen America’s energy security. I will continue fighting in Congress to ensure American families have an abundant and affordable supply of energy, as we help our energy producers survive and make it through this challenging time. In Louisiana and across the country, American energy producers and their employees have faced unprecedented challenges due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Now more than ever, we must work to protect the jobs, communities, and coastal restoration projects supported by energy producers in Louisiana and across the nation.
I recently joined the South Central Industrial Association and community leaders in South Louisiana to discuss the future of the energy industry in our state. Click here for Houma Today’s coverage of our discussion.
Meeting with Jefferson Parish State Legislators
I recently joined state legislators from Jefferson Parish to discuss how we can continue safely reopening our economy. Protecting the health, safety, and success of Louisiana families and small businesses is our top priority, and I will continue working alongside local officials to ensure our state has access to the supplies we need to safely reopen our economy and fight against the COVID-19 virus.

Community Updates:
- Celebrating the U.S. Constitution: Yesterday marked the 233rd anniversary of the signing of the United States Constitution – creating the greatest nation in the history of the world. Now more than ever it’s up to us to preserve America’s founding values.
- Operation Warp Speed: The United States continues to make progress under Operation Warp Speed with three vaccines in phase 3 clinical trials. Any vaccine approved will meet the high safety and efficacy standards required by the FDA. The FDA has published transparent guidance that outlines what is required for a COVID-19 vaccine approval.
- Census 2020: As a reminder, the deadline to complete the 2020 U.S. Census is September 30, 2020. Many Louisianans have yet to be counted. Visit my2020census.gov, text 'CountMe' to 898-211 or call 844-330-2020 and get counted. It’s safe, secure, and confidential, and your response could help direct billions of dollars in federal funds to local communities for schools, roads, and other critical public services.
- Middle East Breakthrough: This week, I had the opportunity to witness history as I joined President Trump at the White House for the historic Abraham Accords signing ceremony. America is leading again, and the world is a safer place thanks to President Trump’s leadership.
- Distributing Critical PPE: As of Sept. 13, FEMA, HHS and the private sector coordinated delivery of or are currently shipping: 239 million N95 masks, 1 billion surgical and procedural masks, 44.5 million eye and face shields, 423.7 million gowns and coveralls and over 27.2 billion gloves.
It is an honor to represent you in Congress. For more information please visit my website, Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook pages.
