Millions of Americans have been ordered to evacuate. Entire communities in
the Bahamas have been completely destroyed.
Hurricane Dorian is not an isolated event. It’s the latest in a string of
disasters fueled by rising temperatures and warming oceans.
We can no longer ignore the climate crisis, as the Trump administration
has done. Nor can we indulge the baby steps even some Democrats have
proposed.
As Colorado’s next senator, I will lead the fight for bold, transformative
change—a Green New Deal that matches the urgency of this moment.
That means, among other measures:
* ending tax giveaways to oil, gas, and coal companies;
* banning fracking and the construction of new fossil fuel
infrastructure;
* investing in the research and development of renewable energy;
* creating millions of jobs in a carbon-free economy;
* helping workers achieve a just transition; and
* aiding communities that suffer the most from toxic pollution.

will stand up to the nation’s biggest polluters, not do their bidding.

transform our transportation system, our power grid, our buildings and
industries. But consider the alternative: a world where storms, floods,
droughts, wildfires, and heat waves become even more frequent and more

their homes and turned into climate refugees.
This is a moment of decision for all of us. We face this fight head-on, or
we condemn our children to catastrophe.
The fossil fuel lobby has already made its choice in this race, and
(spoiler alert!) it’s not me: I’ve signed a No Fossil Fuel Money pledge.
We’re not taking money from special-interest groups; we’re asking
individuals to contribute instead.
