I. Spotlight: Climate Fundraiser with Andrew Romanoff and More

Ike was joined by Andrew Romanoff, former Colorado Speaker of the House, as well as Krisopher Jacks, chair of Our Revolution Weld county, and Diana Grey, former senate candidate and climate activist, for a discussion on climate change and the need for a green new deal that will preserve our planet for our children's future. Over 50 people attended the online event and $4,000 was raised. Big thanks for everyone who was able to make it.

Ike And Governor Polis Meet

Following a chance phone call, Jared Polis offered to meet with Ike prior to a press conference at Morgan Community College on September 11th. 
The two discussed the challenges of running in such a large district, and personal stories and experiences regarding campaign season.
Prior to taking pictures and parting ways, Jared gave Ike a coin with the Governor's seal, in recognition of his military service.

Northern Colorado Central Labor Council Endorsement

We are pleased to announce an endorsement from the Northern Colorado Central Labor Council, a local council of the AFL-CIO. They proudly fight to help working people at the local and state level. Ike is ready to help them fight against the big corporations in northern Colorado that Ken Buck gets campaign checks from.

Greeley Save our Democracy Event

Sunday September 20 at 12pm, please join us as a community to support Joe Biden and Kamala Harris. We have seen the destruction of this administration and we need to fight to get a team in office that can truly lead us during this virus, fix our economy, help our unemployed, help our small business and support our BIPOC brothers and sisters. You will get to hear Ike along with other candidates running in northern Colorado. Masks and social distancing are required.

Lone Tree Votes

Join us every 2nd and 4th Saturday of the month at the Lone Tree Golf Club Tennis Courts to discuss this upcoming election, current events, legislation, and get to know Ike. Meet at the tennis pavilion and bring a chair.

Colorado Sun- Colorado governor, CHSAA sign off on high school football, field hockey in fall

Gov. Jared Polis and the Colorado High School Activities Association on Wednesday signed off on allowing high school football and field hockey games to happen in the fall despite the coronavirus.Schools have the option of resuming the sports in the coming weeks if they are ready, or waiting until the spring.


Denver Post- Here are the Colorado mountains, bodies of water that people want to rename because of racist connotations
Colorado’s newly formed geographic naming board has received 16 requests to change the names of mountains and open areas in the state — many because of the current names’ derogatory connotations toward Native Americans or Black people.
The board will be charged with making recommendations for name changes as well as recommending names for new sites.

Colorado Sun-Workers protest $15,615 federal fine for JBS meatpacking plant in Greeley where coronavirus killed six

A union representing workers at a Colorado meatpacking plant where six workers died of COVID-19 and hundreds more were infected staged a protest Wednesday, claiming that federal officials should have fined the company more for its alleged failure to provide safe working conditions.

The JBS USA-owned plant in Greeley was issued a $15,615 fine on Sept. 11 by the Occupational Safety and Health Administration, or OSHA.

Trinidad Chronicle- Las Animas County announces emergency grant funds now available to county businesses

Last Friday, September 11, Las Animas County Administrator Phil Dorenkamp announced that the County would now begin accepting applications for their COVID Small Business Emergency Grant program. Businesses within Las Animas County will have access to up to $5,000 to pay for rent, utilities, insurance, and other costs associated with COVID-19 strains.

“As our community continues to confront the still-emerging health and economic implications of the COVID-19 crisis, small businesses throughout Las Animas County have sought to meet the sudden and emergency challenges of our community,” said the informational release from the county on Friday.
