Organized by Awood, Amazon workers share their stories working at the Amazon Eagan Delivery Center [[link removed]]
COVID-19 cases at the Amazon warehouse in Minneapolis are occurring at four times the rate among the surrounding community. In response to this clear disregard for worker safety, the Awood Center has staged walkouts and rallies to increase public awareness and call for safer conditions. Given their past victories, we’re excited to witness Awood’s success in this fight! Named for the Somali word for “power,” the Awood Center educates, organizes, and mobilizes workers and community members in the Twin Cities to improve working conditions and political life for the community. The Amazon campaign reflects only a small fraction of the fantastic work done by the organization. For these reasons, IPS is proud to honor the Awood Center as our 44th Letelier-Moffitt Domestic Awardee! Buy your tickets today!
