Hey John,
In August, the Biden campaign announced they raised roughly $364.5 million to defeat Trump this November. I'm excited to see it, because winning back the White House is incredibly important to the future of our democracy.
But I'm a little worried too because in all of 2020, every Democratic state legislative campaign combined raised less than Biden did in a single month.
What this tells us is that people are (rightfully so) determined to defeat Trump -- but prioritizing the White House alone will not get Americans the progress we desperately need.
That's where Run for Something comes in. We've been beating the "prioritize down-ballot races" drum since our founding, and we're not stopping now. But we can't do it alone, John. We've been able to support state and local candidates -- about 500 (and counting) are on the ballot this November! -- because of the generosity and commitment of grassroots activists giving a little to create a lot.
So, I'm reaching out to ask if you'll help Run for Something continue our critical work when young progressives need it the most. Can you chip in $5 or whatever you can?

If we want tangible change in our day-to-day lives, if we want a justice system that doesn't criminalize being a BIPOC, if we want unfettered access to reproductive health care, if we want leaders who put the wellbeing of our communities above all else --
we need to elect young progressives to state and local office.
No one believes that more than Run for Something. Recruiting, training, supporting and electing young, diverse progressives to down-ballot offices has always been our highest priority.
But with all eyes on Biden and Trump, we need to step up and make sure state and local power is on people's minds, too.
Want to help? Chip in $5 to help state and local candidates who are running to build sustainable, permanent power for Democrats nationwide --- and we're helping them do it.
Thank you so much,
