Hi there,

How many state legislatures do you think it takes to call for a national constitutional convention? An arena in which something like outlawing abortion could actually happen?

34.

Right now the anti-choice Republican Party controls 29 state legislatures.

Friend, they just need 5 more. And if you know the Republicans like I do -- especially at the state and local level -- you know they will do whatever it takes to infringe on our reproductive rights.

That's why we are targeting 8 state legislatures to FLIP from red to blue in 2020! Donate to help elect pro-choice Democratic women who will be on the front lines of preventing this catastrophe:

Republicans are counting on stories like this to not be in the national news. That's why they know their strategy can work in the long run.

Too often, state and local races don't get the attention they deserve. But at EMILY's List, we believe and practice the opposite -- we have endorsed hundreds of women fighting tooth and nail to flip anti-choice, anti-woman state legislatures across the country.

Remember: they just need 5 state legislatures to rewrite the Constitution. We are targeting 8.

This is too important to brush aside. Donate to help elect women to state legislatures across the country who we can depend on to defend our basic rights:
