Folks,
It’s sad that it’s come to this.
It’s 2020 -- We shouldn’t have to fight for reality to have a place in our government. Believing in science shouldn’t be a partisan act.
We’re facing a global pandemic and a climate crisis that poses an existential threat to life on Earth. We need leaders who will base their decisions on the best evidence available -- but President Trump and his enablers are only motivated by political and personal benefit.
As a scientist, I’m fighting to make sure our federal policymaking is grounded in the facts -- but I’m being challenged by a Trump loyalist who would be a rubber stamp for the GOP’s attacks on science. Will you chip in to make sure our people-powered campaign has the resources to defend this seat and stand up for decency and truth in our government?
We’re living through the consequences of a president who is psychologically incapable of putting the facts before his own ego -- enabled by the inaction of Republican lawmakers who either fully support him or are too cowardly to stand against him.
That’s why this November, we must do everything in our power to defeat not just him, but every single Republican who seeks to enable his reckless, anti-science agenda. And that includes my far-right opponent Jeanne Ives.
We don’t have time to debate the facts -- the survival of our families, our economy, and our planet is at stake. Will you pitch in to help me hold this seat so that I can keep holding Trump’s feet to the fire?
We still have the opportunity to turn things around, but we must act now.
Thank you for standing with me,
Sean Casten
