This cheats workers out of benefits and wages and gives unscrupulous employers an unfair advantage against legitimate employers. Creating a method for undocumented workers to earn their legal status would give employers the opportunity to hire badly-needed workers who have already completed years of “on-the-job-training” while working in the shadows.

It's past time that illegal immigrants and the people who employ them pay their fair share. The United States needs a system where the undocumented would be issued tamper-proof IDs, taxed at a rate equal to or higher than American citizens, and required to work for employers who deduct and match taxes.
