Overnight parking restrictions to be enforced again beginning Oct 1.

Residents are reminded to move vehicles from streets overnight

Overnight parking restrictions, which were temporarily suspended at the start of the COVID-19 crisis, will go back into effect on Thursday, Oct. 1, throughout the village of Oswego.

The Village of Oswego prohibits parking on the streets between 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. throughout the village, with certain exceptions in neighborhoods adjacent to downtown and in the Hometown neighborhood.

At the start of the COVID-19 crisis, on-street parking restrictions were temporarily suspended to accommodate college students and other family members sheltering at home during the statewide Stay at Home order and related closures. The parking restrictions will be enforced again beginning Oct. 1 to accommodate fall curbside leaf collection and winter snow removal.

As always, residents may request a temporary exemption for guests by calling the police department?s non-emergency number, 630-551-7300. To request a temporary exemption, you will need to provide vehicle and license plate information and the requested dates of the exemption. Exemptions are not recognized during snowstorms. All vehicles must be moved from the street after 2 inches of accumulated snow.
