John,

Two years ago today I launched my campaign for Congress! It’s unbelievable how far we’ve come.

My first campaign meeting
We held our first meeting in my living room with some of my dearest friends and earliest supporters.

In these two years, we built a real grassroots campaign that listened to Central Virginians, we raised significant funds without corporate PAC money, and we defeated an entrenched opponent in a district most pundits said was wholly unwinnable.

And we did these things together.

My first interview
This was my first interview!

When I think back to the day I launched our campaign, I remember the excitement and nervousness about what I was endeavoring to do. I knew the race would be a long, uphill effort with unknown challenges along the way, but I also believed it would be worth it. Your support and the energy I felt from people I met throughout Central Virginia helped push me through the challenges and keep me focused on the “why” behind my decision to run.

I have fond memories of launch day and of the 2018 race, and I am proud of all that I am doing and working to achieve on behalf of the people of VA07!

But today I’m also thinking about 2020.

We’re going to have a challenging race, and I’ll need to work just as hard to keep my seat in our R+6 district as I worked to win it in 2018! I’m excited to do just that, but I will need your help and the resources to communicate what I’m working for and why I want to continue serving in Congress. Can you help contribute to my campaign so that we can be in the best possible position?

Your support has been vital. I hope that I can count on it again as we prep for the race ahead.

Thank you!

- Abigail
