RACING TOWARD A COVID-19 VACCINE

I toured the vaccine development facility at Texas A&M. The federal government has reserved a high-tech bio-manufacturing center at Texas A&M for mass production of a COVID vaccine.

The facility anticipates producing 20-35 million doses of vaccines per month and about 100 new jobs are being created here with recruits from across the country. There are two production companies at this facility - Novavax and Sanofi – in Phase I-II of trials and more vaccines being developed through Operation Warp Speed.

It is possible that manufacturing could be started in mid-November with the bioreactor at this facility running in early December.

encouraging news on covid-19

There continues to be encouraging news on the COVID-19 front here in Houston. As of September 15, there were 195 COVID patients in the ICU in Harris County, which is the lowest it has been since May 2.

Keep it up Texas. Do your part to continue to slow the spread and make sure this progress continues. We will get through this together.

why can't democrats condemn antifa?

This week, I participated in a Homeland Security Committee Hearing on threats to the homeland. During the hearing, not one Democrat could condemn Antifa by name. Many questioned the existence of Antifa. I asked the FBI Director why he describes Antifa as an “ideology” more than a “group.”

Spoiler alert: I disagreed with him.
