ACLU Supporter, November 3rd is almost here and we know there's a lot of information (and misinformation) on what voting will look like this year, especially in a global pandemic.

As the ACLU fights across the country for all our voting rights, we want you to have what you need to exercise this fundamental freedom. That's why we've made you a voting plan guide below.

Save this email in your inbox as a handy reference whenever you need. And remember, making your voting plan now is the best way to ensure your vote counts in this consequential election.

Your Voting Plan Guide

1. Make Sure You're Registered in Your State.

If you haven't done so already, check your voter status and register to vote. Visit your state or territory's page on our voting tool and check out the registration resources section. [link removed]

2. Mark Your Deadlines.

Write down the important deadlines for your state or territory. If you are voting by mail, set a date in your calendar to request and return your ballot before then. Remember: The earlier, the better. [link removed]

3. Decide How You Will Vote. Voting by mail is the safest option for many in this election, but in-person voting options also remain critical. The more people who can vote by mail, the safer it will be for those who need to vote in person. [link removed]

4. Be as Informed as Possible.

Before you fill out your ballot, be sure you have the facts you need as an informed voter.

Knowing your voting rights is crucial to this: Learn more here about how to exercise your voting rights, resist voter intimidation efforts, and access disability-related accommodations and language assistance at the polls. [link removed]

ACLU Supporter, this is one of the most meaningful elections of our time, and it's going to take all of us to make sure every ballot is cast and counted. So far, our lawyers have filed over 20 voting rights cases nationwide since the COVID-19 pandemic – while our advocacy team pushes Congress and states to expand voting access.

And as we continue our work on the ground, having your voting plan set today is a powerful way to be in the fight, too. For our democracy and for all our civil liberties, let's get ready to vote like our rights depend on it. [link removed]

Thanks for taking action,

The ACLU Team
