Now smoke from these wildfires is even reaching the East Coast. And earlier this month, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) predicted a ‘very active’ hurricane season with up to 25 named storms. Two of those hurricanes have already hit the Gulf Coast.
With global temperatures rising, we will continue to see more extreme weather disasters. This is why our work to ban fracking, stop new drilling permits, shut down dangerous fossil fuel infrastructure, and transition to 100% clean, renewable energy by 2030 is more critical than ever.
