Lucy had seen things no child should, including a parent’s arrest. The family lost their home when Lucy’s dad went to prison. They had no relatives nearby to help. For a time, they lived out of their car, then at a shelter.
At school, Lucy became timid and struggled to make friends. She began misbehaving in class. Underneath it all, the little girl was missing her father. She cried all the time and wondered if he would forget about her.
Then her dad signed her up for Angel Tree®, a program of Prison Fellowship®. Caring volunteers purchased and delivered a gift to Lucy in her dad’s name. Soon Lucy attended an Angel Tree Christmas party at a local church and heard the Gospel. For many years, Angel Tree Christmas stepped in to show Lucy that she was remembered and loved by her dad.
