Leadership, self care, election actions, documentaries, and more!
Dear John -
As the weather cools down, we are heating things up -- we have an event almost every day for the next week! Choose your own adventure and attend a leadership workshop, self-care, chapter development, Braver Angels, a book club discussion, election action, and more.
Build your skills on leading, motivating, power building, and having fun with your team!
In CCL, we transform what people think is possible for Congress to do on climate, and in the process transform what people think is possible for themselves to accomplish.
Come attend today's workshop to learn and share ways of cultivating confidence and agency in your volunteers, thereby making your teams more effective (and fun!). This workshop is for current and future leaders, and also for volunteers who want to support their leaders. We will be drawing from CCL resources on group organizing and mentorship, and share where you can go to learn more about building power for your team, so that we can grow and accomplish more, together.
Activists come from a place of love for creation -- humans, animals and the environment. This outpouring of love -- as a change agent, advocate and inspiration -- may deplete our reserves. To be an effective advocate and activist for others, one must first mirror care and love that fuels concern for creation to first include self.
Languages of Leisure for Activists explores practices to build your resilience bank to empower you as you serve and fight for what you care about. We focus upon art and conversation to ignite and elevate you. You will receive tools to take away and put in practice as you serve.
The DC Chapter Development team meets twice a month -- the Monday prior to the Chapter meeting, and two weeks after that. Volunteers at all levels are welcome to join and participate!

Please join Braver Angels and CCL DC on Wednesday September 23rd, 7:00-8:45PM EDT for a movie night to watch and discuss Braver Angels: Reuniting America, a 50-minute documentary about what happened before, during and after a Braver Angels Red/Blue workshop in Waynesville, Ohio.
A 50-minute screening of the film will be followed by a Q&A with personalities from Braver Angels and CCL. This is a great opportunity to understand perspectives on different sides of the political spectrum and to understand how everyone can work together to make a difference against polarization and climate change!
The Environmental Voter Project aims to significantly increase voter demand for environmental leadership by identifying inactive environmentalists and then turning them into consistent activists and voters. Join your fellow CCL volunteers for training, phone banking, and texting with Environmental Voter Project.
