1. NC VALUES: We endorse Baker
for NC House 82 & Nichols for NC Senate 37. Watch our latest
episode of the voice to learn why.
Join us every week for another episode of “The NC Values Voice”, a
weekly 30-minute interview by Executive Director, Tami Fitzgerald,
with a special guest. The NC Values Voice is aired on Facebook Live
every Wednesday night at 7:30pm. Our goal is to inform and motivate
our statewide coalition members with current, relevant
information.
On this week's program we welcomed two amazing women who we expect
to be real leaders in their caucuses as well as champions for North
Carolina values. It is with high honor that the North Carolina Values
Coalition endorses Dr. Kristin Baker for House District 82 and Sonja
Nichols for Senate District 37. We hope you'll tune in to hear from
these ladies and why we endorse them on this week's episode of The
Voice.

to resist growing attacks on religious freedom.

3. TYLER BROOKS: The Court of
Appeals has reinstated the Voter ID Amendment. Check out this case
analysis and NC Values' Amicus Brief.
On Tuesday, the Court of Appeals
released its opinion in NC State Conference of the NAACP v.
Moore, reversing the trial court. In the principal opinion for
the Court, Judge Chris Dillon explained, “[T]he overwhelming, if not
universal, authority compels our conclusion that the superior court
here erred in declaring that the members of our General Assembly duly
elected in 2016 lacked authority to pass bills proposing amendments
for the people’s consideration, a power expressly granted to our
legislative branch by our state constitution.” After discussing the weaknesses
in the arguments made by the liberal groups, Judge Dillon concluded by
saying, “It is simply beyond [a court’s] power to thwart the otherwise
lawful exercise of constitutional power by our legislative branch to
pass bills proposing [constitutional] amendments.” Judge Chris
Dillon, who wrote the opinion for the majority that reinstates Voter
ID is running for re-election to the Court of Appeals this
year. Remember Chris Dillon when you
vote!The NC
Values Coalition was the only organization to file an Amicus
Brief on behalf of Berger, Moore, and North Carolina Voters. If
you're interested in reading the Amicus Brief that was filed in the NCAAP v. Berger
Moore NC Voter ID case, click
here.
Note: Unfortunately, this
ruling is too late to affect this election, because absentee balloting
has already begun.

4. NC VALUES: iVoterGuide and NC
Values election toolkit now available
We exist because Biblical values transform culture. Our primary
purpose is to help you elect godly leaders to office so they will
advance your Biblical values.
At NC Values, we've organized a number of election tools to help
you save time at the polls and support pro-life, pro-family, and
pro-religious liberty candidates.

5. CIVITAS: North Carolina
Legislative Democrats pledge to defund police
"Forty-Seven Democratic members of the state House and candidates
running to join the Democratic caucus have signed a pledge to defund
the police, restrict the ability of law enforcement to obtain basic
protective equipment and strip citizens of Second Amendment rights
with no due process.
The pledge includes ending cash bail and the assignment of court
fees and costs, one which would return some dangerous criminals back
to the streets, the other which would further defund the police by
eliminating revenue for police training and police retirement. Eight
Democratic state Senate members and candidates also signed the pledge.
While not all current Democrat house members signed the pledge, if all
47 of the pledge signers were elected, they would represent 85% of the
current 55 Democrat members of the state House." You can see
which Democrats have signed the anti-law and order pledge here.

WEEKLY PRAYER: LIBERTY
LORD, you have blessed us with a spiritual liberty that is so
wonderful and beyond description, that it can only be understood
through experiencing a life-giving relationship with Christ. However,
we also recognize that in your grace, you have blessed our country
with a political liberty that enables us to openly proclaim the
experience of a life lived in the freedom of the Gospel.
LORD, as individuals and as a nation, may we never take the
inalienable right of religious freedom for granted. Right now our
country has faced a rapid increase in the number of attacks made
against this cherished right. We have seen groups across our public
arena increase in boldness and frequency their smears against
religious liberty. They claim it is bigotry, when we know it is the
security of the greatest of all possible loves.
Be with your people and our country as it continues to protect
the constitutional right protected by our nation's Founders. Be with
legislators and the Supreme Court, as they determine through their
actions the protection of this particular and fundamental
freedom.
“It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore
keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery."
(Galatians 5:1)
"For you were called to freedom, brethren; only do not
turn your freedom into an opportunity for the flesh, but through love
serve one another." (Galatians 5:13)
"Act as free men, and do not use your freedom as a covering for
evil, but use it as bondslaves of God." (1 Peter 2:16)
Amen

Will you chip in $100, $50, $25, or even $10 to help
