** Save the date: 'A Review of the Youth Work Sector Response to the COVID-19 Pandemic'

This important new piece of research will be launched on September 28th Monday, 28th September from 1:30-2:30 pm. We will be joined by young people sharing their experience as well as speakers including Dr Roderic O’Gorman TD, Minister for Children, Equality, Disability, Integration and Youth and report authors Deborah Erwin and Lorraine Thompson.



** One World Week 2020 on the horizon!

The theme of this year's One World Week (OWW) is power. Understanding power in youth work is vital for the development of young people as they navigate their lives and society. This year One World Week takes place from November 23-29 and we'll be publishing a new resource to support you, as well as hosting not one but three(!) youth summits - watch this space.

Skills Summary Share Your Story Callout

We want to know how the young people you work with are engaging with Skills Summary on their personal journey. We want to capture how and why they've been using the tool, and how it makes a difference for them. New STEAM Training Package for Laois & Offaly
------------------------------------------------------------
NYCI is delighted to be supporting a new STEAM package including training, equipment, grant application eligibility, and follow-up support. The package is heavily subsidised by Science Foundation of Ireland and Laois and Offaly Local Creative Youth Partnership, and costs just €50 per person. Learn more >> ([link removed])

Covid-19: updated guidance for youth services

We continue to work with the officials in the Department to revise the guidance in response to any new restrictions and this week shared the newly updated Guidance for Youth Organisations on Resuming Full Services ([link removed]) .

We have also updated the official DCYA/NYCI Covid Induction for Youth Services ([link removed]) to reflect the changes.

** Minister O’Gorman announces COVID-19 Small Grant Schemes for Youth Clubs and Services

Free STEAM & Sound Production Programme

You are invited, with your youth group, to take part in the co-creation of a sound installation that will be exhibited in the Regional Cultural Centre in Letterkenny from the end of this week until December. ** Last of the Big Shoes: Dance Opportunity for Young People

Step into a world of fancy footwork and fantastical shoes to imagine and create specially choreographed shoe stories for the camera. Led by Phillipa Donnellan, young people will perfect techniques drawn from a range of contemporary dance styles and take part in online technical dance practice. Starts September 21. The E-Bulletin goes out to over 3,500 subscribers with an interest in youth issues. It is a great opportunity both to let the sector know about the fantastic work your organisation does and to target youth workers and those interested in youth work issues directly.
