We’ve seen over these past few weeks what it looks like when we continue to ignore the climate crisis. The West Coast is covered in historic and deadly wildfires, while the Gulf and East Coasts are facing down an increasingly active hurricane season. In the middle of the country, strong storms paired with widespread drought have left farmers unsure of their crops this year.

We’re not waiting for our climate to change. It has changed -- and it will only get worse unless we act.

Put this in contrast with when President Trump was asked about the wildfires, and his response: “It will start getting cooler. Just watch. I don’t think science knows actually.”

Science knows. Science warned us, for years -- what we’re seeing is the consequences of inaction from people like Donald Trump and his GOP allies. Democrats aren’t waiting for it to “cool down” -- we’re taking action now.
