Dear John:
Everything about campaigning is different this year, but one thing is clear: Talking directly to potential voters is still the best tool we have to win. Thanks to those of you who joined us this week to make thousands of calls and texts to support Democrats in Texas!
Next week, we’re teaming up with Make the Road Action to call voters in Pennsylvania -- which Nate Silver’s FiveThirtyEight just called “the single most important state of the 2020 election.”

Make the Road Action builds political power rooted in immigrant communities and working-class communities of color, both in Pennsylvania and here in NYC.
Few know better than Make the Road members how critical it is to defeat Trump this fall. They’ve lost members to the coronavirus, fought back efforts to end DACA protections, mobilized to support and defend members facing deportation, and fought hard to make sure immigrants won't be undercounted in the Census. As they put it: “We are voting for our futures.”
Join us on Wednesday, September 23 at 6 PM to make critical calls to PA voters so we can block Trump’s path to victory in November →

Trump won PA by an agonizingly close 0.7% margin in 2016. There’s every indication the state will be extremely close again. But there are some key changes:
In 2016, hundreds of New Yorkers took trips to knock on thousands of doors in PA, which is no longer possible.
On the other hand, PA has massively expanded options for mail-in voting. That’ll help a lot of folks cast ballots, but thanks to Republican lawsuits and misinformation from Trump, there’s a lot of confusion, too.
Make the Road Action has set the goal of calling 2 million voters in Pennsylvania -- not only to urge them to vote for Democrats but to provide critical information about how to vote in this very unusual year!
These conversations could make the difference -- can you join us at our next phone bank on Wednesday, September 23? [[link removed]]
Or, make a quick contribution to our campaign to help defray the costs of these phone banks → [[link removed]]
Let’s do this! Thanks,
-- Team Lander
