This month marks the 50th anniversary of the U.S. Senate unanimously passing the Clean Air Act. This remarkable bipartisan achievement was championed by Maine’s U.S. Senator Ed Muskie and has delivered cleaner air, improved public health, and technological innovation to Maine and the nation ever since.

In 2019, Maine set an example for the nation when bipartisan majorities of lawmakers passed landmark climate action and clean energy laws. It’s time for Congress to summon the same level of bipartisan support it did for the Clean Air Act and take bold action on climate to protect all future generations.
