Summer is over. We have a world to win. It's time to get out and win it.

As you know, both DSA national and our Los Angeles chapter have endorsed Bernie Sanders for president of the United States. DSA-LA's Bernie 2020 Working Group seeks to get Bernie elected while at the same time expanding DSA's membership and reach throughout Los Angeles, strengthening our movement building and local coalitions vital to bringing the change the people of this city, this country and this planet so desperately need.

We're starting this weekend, with canvass kick-offs across all three of our chapter branches, culminating in a full chapter kickoff social Sunday evening, September 8th, at 7:00 p.m. at the Cat and the Fiddle. Bernie's birthday is ALSO September 8th, so we're hoping to include a delicious birthday cake in his honor. (If anyone knows a socialist or sympathetic baker or bakery, email [email protected] with suggestions)

On Saturday, September 7 and on Sunday, September 8 hit the streets to knock on doors and spread the word to our fellow Angelenos about the tangible promise of a fairer, better,  more socialist world. There will be canvass training at each location (Woodbine Park, Echo Park Lake, and Fire Station 87 in Granada Hills on Saturday, MacArthur Park, Woodbine Park, and the North Hollywood Recreation Center on Sunday), so even if you have never canvassed in your life, you will get the preparation you need (including a partner) to persuade and energize potential Bernie supporters and Democratic Socialists across the city.

If you haven't yet signed up for the working group, you can do so HERE. But you don't need to join the working group to canvass and help us win.
