Hi John, With less than one month to go until the general election, I wanted to bring you all up to speed with what’s been happening on the campaign so far and lay out what our key priorities are over the coming month to ensure we return a Labour Government. Earlier this year, I reached out and asked for your help to finalise our campaign plan. Thousands of you responded, and together, we created a truly people-powered strategy that focused on three key elements: running a positive and uplifting campaign, growing our grassroots movement and raising enough money to compete with National’s big war chest. So far, this election has been truly unprecedented. The impact of campaigning under different COVID-19 alert levels has meant we’ve had to pivot parts of our plan, in particular our Field Programme, to ensure we’re sticking to the guidelines and protecting the health and safety of our staff, volunteers and the public. Our Field Team and volunteers are a huge part of our grassroots movement and we know that having one-on-one, face-to-face conversations is one of the most effective ways to connect with voters. There’s no doubt that COVID-19 has impacted our ability to have as many of these conversations as we’d have liked to, and, like many Kiwis have had to recently, we've adapted. Instead of door knocking, we’ve focused on street corner meetings, where social distancing can be incorporated, and virtual phone banks, where volunteers can make calls from their own living rooms -- and it’s working! Our Field Team, members, volunteers and supporters have still managed to reach out to over 200,000 people. That’s frankly AMAZING! This is a true testament to what can be achieved when we all work together during challenging times. However, there’s still more to do. Now our focus is on what the next month will look like and a big part of this will be mobilising our movement to get out the Labour vote in any way that we can - be it street corner meetings, phone banks, TV commercials, digital and radio ads or having conversations with family and friends. We know that we do better when voter turnout is higher, and our research shows that contacting people before election day makes them significantly more likely to vote. With this in mind, over the last few days we’ve been reviewing what we’ve achieved together so far and thinking about how we can make sure we’re giving you, our people-powered movement, the tools you need to safely and effectively help secure a win for Labour on October 17th. Before we lock in our plan, we’d really appreciate your feedback on what you think of our campaign so far and learn a bit more about how you’d like to get involved in our campaign to re-elect Jacinda and return a Labour Government.
John, the next month is going to be a really critical time for our campaign and it’s supporters like you who are going to make such a difference to the impact and success of our plan! We’ll feedback to you on the results soon. Thanks, Hayden Munro |

A short note on donations: We have a plan to keep New Zealand moving, and it’s already underway. But to keep rolling out that plan beyond October's election, Labour needs to win enough seats to be able to return to government. John, we’re proud to be a truly people-powered Party, and it’s only because of the generosity of thousands of supporters like you chipping in what you can that we’re going to be able to run a winning campaign. If you can, please click the button below to make a donation to our campaign fund today so together, we can keep New Zealand moving.
