Sign up for the car caravan - and we need marshals.
Hi John -
I hope this email finds you well.
On Monday, September 21, from 3:30 to 4:30 pm, we in DC will stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers in Kentucky by holding a nonviolent car caravan action in front of Mitch McConnell’s home in DC. At the same time in Kentucky, our Poor People’s Campaign sisters and brothers will hold actions in front of all six of his state offices.
We have an urgent need for volunteers to serve as marshals for the action. The job of marshals is to keep people safe. There will be formal marshal training over the weekend, most likely on Saturday. Please sign up here if you are interested in serving as a marshal and we will provide you with more information about the training and marshal duties. On Monday, marshals will need to report to a location (to be announced) at 3:00 pm.
COVID-19 safety is our primary concern. These are our guidelines:
Stay Home if you are feeling sick!
Wear a mask or Face coving at all times unless drinking or eating.
Bring hand Sanitizer
Avoid contact with people while walking
Stay in your vehicle as much as possible
Avoid touching eyes, nose, and mouth with your hands
Cover your cough or sneeze with a tissue, then throw the tissue in the trash
Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces
Stay Home if you are feeling sick!
Forward together – not one step back!
