Teen Adopted a Pig and Then Opened a Sanctuary

At 14 years old, Olivia Head adopted Tee the pig and quickly realized that she was only one of many animals in need of a safe home. That's when the teen founded Oinking Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary in Brownsburg, Indiana. With a little help, she has rescued 224 neglected and abandoned pot-bellied pigs and found homes for 158 of them!

PETA's investigation of Trillium Farm Holdings followed verified reports by a whistleblower that 260,000 hens had been killed there in December by closing off the ventilation in sheds and raising the temperature to at least 104 degrees, essentially roasting them alive.
