HUAC was a committee empaneled during the Cold War as a tool to combat the threat of Communism and remains a stain on the history of the House of Representatives. Countless Americans were falsely accused of being Communists and had their lives ruined by witch hunt hearings on HUAC — including over 300 screenwriters, actors, and radio personalities who were blacklisted from their jobs, often on little evidence.
President Harry Truman called HUAC, “the most un-American thing in our country today” before it was disbanded in 1975.
John, all across Georgia Republicans are nominating extremists to run for seats in the US House of Representatives. MarjorieTaylor Greene doesn’t believe in science but does believe dangerous conspiracy theories like QAnon. And my opponent wants to bring back an insidious committee to conduct witch hunts against public officials she doesn’t like.
We can’t let these far-right extremists win in November. Will you rush a contribution to my campaign so we can get the truth out about my opponent and her alarming views?
Not only does my opponent want to restore this infamous committee, but she thinks the first order of business for a restored HUAC should be investigating Rep. Ilhan Omar for being a “traitor”.
