John – Today, ballots are being mailed to voters across Oregon.

Oregon has been voting by mail for more than 25 years, and our turnout is consistently among the highest in the country. When you make voting easy, more people vote.

Here's what the Oregon way looks like: A ballot shows up in your mailbox. You sit down at your kitchen table, take your time and read up on the candidates and measures. You fill it out and sign it. Then you mail it back or drop it in a secure drop box, no waiting in line and no taking time off work.

It's safe, it's secure, it's accessible to everyone – including seniors, rural voters, people with disabilities and shift workers – a nd most importantly, it works.

Donald Trump is working hard to cast doubt on our time-tested system and make voting difficult. They know that when more people participate, they'll lose.

I won't let them chip away at what we've built. I'm not going to let them spread fear and doubt about one of our most fundamental rights as Americans.
