Follow Us on Social ‌ ‌ ‌ ‌ President's Message Being prepared means more than just knowing how to react to an emergency, although that is certainly part of it. Being prepared as a school nurse also means keeping up with the latest trends and topics that can potentially result in an emergency for your students. From allergies to diabetes to mental health and more, students deal with immediate and long-term issues that we need to be aware of. Our Back-to-School Toolkit has a number of resources to help you become more prepared as you start the year. And you can also find more information on different practice topics on the NASN website. In addition, preparation starts at home. You can get materials at ready.gov/kids to pass along to students’ families to learn how to talk with children early about potential emergencies and how to be ready.
