Folks, I recently received an F grade from the NRA.
I’ve never been more proud of a failing grade in my life.
That F means I've passed the courage and decency test. It means I'll fight for a society where our children aren't under constant threat of being gunned down in their schools, where people can worship without fear their services will be the next mass shooting, and where domestic abuse survivors don't have to live in fear of being shot and killed by an intimate partner.
My far-right opponent has a “perfect score” from the NRA, which means he's ready to trade our safety for a check from the gun lobby.
We need someone representing Texas’ 23rd Congressional District who will put the safety of our communities ahead of corporate profits. Just over a year ago, a white supremacist murdered 23 people in El Paso because of how they looked -- we need leaders with the moral courage to advocate for common sense gun safety laws.
