Pete Hegseth announced plans for a public execution by firing squad.

I spent 40 years in uniform, and I can tell you what service members are taught: never romanticize violence. Death is not a spectacle to be cheered.

Think about what comes next. In the age of social media and AI, footage of an execution will spread everywhere. We can't do anything to keep it from our kids.

Performing public executions puts us alongside oppressive dictatorships like Iran and Afghanistan. This cannot stand. America is better than this.

And look at who is behind it. Hegseth isn’t thinking about the soldiers who would be forced into this, or the children who would see it. He’s thinking about attention and clicks. It’s the same pattern we’ve seen from this administration: personal fame before our troops and our country.

It’s what happens when you hand the Defense Department to a Fox News host.

Will you contribute $10 to help elect a veteran who will stop Hegseth from bringing back public executions?

Enough is enough. Our Defense Department does not have to choose between being effective and being humane. We can, and should, do both.

Thank you,
