You may have already heard that Mercy For Animals has joined a lawsuit
challenging the United States Department of Agriculture’s careless response plan
for avian influenza ( " bird flu " ). While preventing the development and spread of dangerous illnesses should be
a top priority for the federal government, the USDA’s plan puts animals and
people—especially low-income and BIPOC communities—at risk.

Please join Leah Garcés, president of Mercy For Animals, and Daina Bray, our
general counsel, on Thursday, August 27, for an invitation-only conversation about this lawsuit. Attendees will have the
opportunity to ask questions and learn more about our fight against the USDA’s
failure to adequately respond to bird flu.

This exclusive Zoom event will begin promptly at noon Pacific time / 3 p.m.
Eastern time. Please click here [link removed]
