Dear John,

We know what’s at stake in the presidential election. President Trump’s continued failures as a leader are painfully obvious.

He’s been astonishingly terrible for our environment and for conservation and continues to recklessly pursue crackpot schemes, racist ideology, and dirty politics, all while reversing over 100 environmental protections. You heard that right – over 100 of the laws that protect everything from our water and air to wildlife have been gutted by the Trump Administration.

Your urgent gift – and impact for conservation – will be TRIPLED to help us elect leaders from the top to the bottom of the ticket who will fight for your communities, environment, and democracy. $25 becomes $75, $50 becomes $150, and $100 becomes $300 to strengthen our efforts for conservation: [[link removed]]

Yes, it’s certain, Trump has to go. But, why else are these elections so important here in Wisconsin?

The answer in a nutshell: If we don’t win key races for the State Senate and Assembly, Gov. Tony Evers will lose his veto power. If Gov. Evers loses his veto power, all bets are off for our water, our air, and the environment. Assembly Speaker Robin Vos and his allies will have complete control to run roughshod over our health and environment, something he’s shown over and over that he’s willing to do.

Vos and his allies will also be able to protect their cheat.

Their cheat, the gerrymander, has chipped away at our ability to elect who we see fit, to choose our own representatives. Instead, it allows one party to cheat their way into near total power in the legislature, and if the veto is taken away – the entire state government.

There’s no other way to categorize it: they’re cheaters who can’t win without a stacked deck. Can we count on your urgent gift today, which will be TRIPLED to help us fight to protect Governor Evers’ veto and elect leaders who will fight for a fair and healthy Wisconsin? [[link removed]]

Consider this from the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel’s reporting on the topic:

“Republican Gov. Scott Walker lost his bid for re-election by roughly one percentage point in 2018 to Democrat Tony Evers. Yet, Walker carried 63 of the state’s 99 state Assembly districts. In fact, the data shows that 64 of the 99 districts are more Republican than the state as a whole, based on their vote for governor. In other words, Republicans enjoy a built-in 64-35 advantage in the partisan makeup of the 99 Assembly districts.”

That’s cheating. That’s what the current leadership is trying to defend.

We’ve made our endorsements for this election season, and I encourage you to keep up to date at our elections page here: [[link removed]] There you’ll find all of our endorsements, voter resources, the most up-to-date voting information available, and some collected videos to watch.
